AT A GLANCE

We’re so excited to share and experience one of the most awe-inspiring landscapes and National Parks with you.  August is the perfect time to experience the magic of Yellowstone and Jackson Hole.

Yellowstone National Park is at peak summer season – with freely roaming wildlife on full view and hot sunny days that offer the best glimpse of the park’s geothermal features.  From the West side of Yellowstone, we’ll drive through the most scenic parts of the Grand Tetons and hit the most iconic vistas. In Jackson Hole, we’ll summit mountains and swim in the local hot springs, but also explore the town’s bars and restaurants and cowboy culture.

ITINERARY

WHAT TO EXPECT

After landing at Bozeman Airport we’ll meet up at our designated meet-up location, jump into the Outsiders vans, and make our way to our Glamping Ground in God’s Country – Yellowstone National Park.  We’ll spend 2 nights glamping in northern Yellowstone before making our way to the western area for 1 night of glamping. After a drive through the most scenic and iconic parts of the Grand Tetons,  we’ll end with 2 nights in Jackson Hole where we have some special things planned – swimming in hot springs followed by a night out on the town courtesy of Bulleit Bourbon. Take a look at the itinerary below for all we have planned for you! Your flight should land in Bozeman before 4 pm on August 17th.

Day 1 - August 17  ARRIVAL

Thursday, August 17th Fly into Bozeman, MT.

We’ll set up a meeting location in Bozeman, so we can comfortably wait for everyone to arrive while exploring the town. Once everyone lands we’ll make the 40-minute drive to our glamping grounds, where the real adventure begins.

Day 2 - August 18

North Yellowstone

After breakfast, we’ll start our adventure-filled day in Lamar Valley – also known as America’s Serengeti.  We’ll be greeted with the sight of vast, sweeping plains that are home to the largest wild herds of bison and elk in North America.

After spending a few hours in Lamar Valley, we will make your way to Mammoth Hot Springs where you can see the full spectrum of colors in the travertine terraces.

We’ll finish our day at the Biscuit Basin Trail head to hike to Mystic Falls, one of the park’s iconic waterfalls. The trail to the falls will take us through forests and streams, offering a chance to spot more wildlife along the way.

Day 3 - August 19

West Yellowstone

On day two we’ll continue to hit some of Yellowstone’s musts – Old Faithful, Grand Prismatic Spring, Yellowstone Lake, and Giant Waterfalls.

At the Old Faithful hike, we’ll witness the park's most famous geyser, which erupts approximately every 90 minutes.

From there, we’ll make our way to the Grand Prismatic Spring, one of the largest and deepest hot springs known.  The Spring’s colors – deep blue to orange – come from various thermophilic bacterial species inhabiting the pools.  The views truly feel extra-planetary.

Next, we head to Yellowstone Lake, the largest high-elevation lake in North America.  We’ll end our day by visiting the Giant Waterfalls, located in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone which offers some of the park's most spectacular views.

Day 4 - August 20

West Yellowstone - Jackson Hole, WY

We say goodbye to Yellowstone and make our way via the beautiful 42-mile scenic loop drive of Grand Teton National Park. This drive takes us through the highlights of the Tetons – through hikes, lakes, lookouts and landmarks.

In the AM we’ll stop to hike the Lakeshore Trail, which winds along the shore of Jackson Lake and provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Another hike option for us is the Swan Lake hike, which offers a secluded and peaceful hiking experience through a forested area.

For a mid-day lunch break, we’ll have a packed picnic lunch at the Colter Bay Picnic Area.

The afternoon will include a stop at Jenny Lake, with a short hike to Hidden Falls and Inspiration Point.  The drive ends at Signal Mountain, which offers panoramic views of the entire park from its summit.

In the evening, we’ll visit one of Jackson Hole’s famed watering holes where Bulleit Bourbon will take care of the bar tab.

Day 5 - August 21

Jackson Hole, WY

On our last full day in Jackson Hole we’ll downshift to a bit of a slower pace. We’ll start our morning with delicious coffee and pastries at Persephone Bakery, a local favorite.

After breakfast, head to Astoria Hot Springs, where we’ll soak in natural hot pools while taking in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

For an afternoon hike, we’ll head to the top of Snow King Mountain, and take in all the alpine air before taking the well-deserved chairlift down.

As the day draws to a close, we plan to check out the Amangani for a sunset drink and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Afterward, take a leisurely stroll around downtown Jackson Hole, where you can browse local shops, galleries, and restaurants.
