YEP presents full day safer sex and healthy relationship professional development session

The Youth Educating Peers (YEP) Project, operating under the Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) are traveling to Geraldton to provide a series of free sexual health harm reduction workshops for the youth sector.

YEP is a peer based youth sexual health education project that provides young people and the youth sector with sexual health education.

The workshops will cover Safer Sex and STI testing; and Healthy Relationship and Consent.

The workshop shall provide participants with skills and knowledge and increase their capacity to engage young people on these important topics. Participants will be provided with a range of intervention strategies, activities and resources that they can use directly with their clients. Examples of the safer sex workshop will include activities for destigmatising sex, step-by-step of how to use a condom with cards and demonstrators. Examples of the healthy relationship and consent workshop include activities for unpacking healthy and unhealthy relationships, videos about consent, YEPs Consent Card resource and accompanying resources. All resources are made by young people, for young people and evidence based.

This session is suitable for all people working professionally or voluntarily with young people aged 12-25, particularly youth workers.

Lunch will be provided.
