YEP Project: LGBTQIA+ 101 - Professional Development

The Youth Educating Peers (YEP) Project, operating under the Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) and in partnership with WAAC is back providing another engaging workshop series for the Western Australian youth sector.

This workshop shall cover LGBTIQA+ 101.

This workshop will provide a brief overview of the support needs for young lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, asexual and other rainbow young people and how youth workers can meet these needs. The session will cover things such as understanding the differences between, sex, sexuality, and gender, supporting coming out, gender transitioning, pronouns and safe sex practices for LGBTIQA+ young people. Participants will be provided with a range of intervention strategies, activities and resources that they can use directly with their young people.

This session is suitable for all people, working professionally with young people aged 12-25, particularly youth workers.
