It’s been three years since the nation gathered around our screens to hear the outcome of the Australian marriage equality postal survey.
In what might’ve been a cruel blow for LGBTIQ+ Australians, marriage equality instead won the support of the Australian people and the biggest YES! vote in the land was recorded right here in Canberra with a 74% affirmative vote.
That night, we danced until the wee hours on Lonsdale Street in celebration and Australia’s new queer festival, YES! Fest was born.
We continued that tradition in both November 2018 and 2019 and grew to become a day and a night festival. YES! Fest became an event that the whole city could be proud of and one that LGBTIQ+ people from around the country want to visit.
This year, a year, unlike any other, we are determined to share our pride and our joy again in the only way we know-how, by coming together and celebrating how resilient and fabulous we are!

Hosted by Etcetera Etcetera with Felicia Foxx, Charlie Chapstik, Toni Kola, Peaches, Xenon Revolution, Cherry Kills, Dionysus, Guy Alias, Faux Nee Phish, MadB, Beige Roots and DJ Raydar.
Ticket includes an Absolut Vodka Cocktail, Pizzas, drink specials and a 90-minute life-affirming showcase of equality.
COVID SAFETY RULES:
To have a good time, we must ensure that attendees only attend one session, remain socially distanced and comply with ACT Government Health advice. When you book a table of 6, you are required to list each ticketholder by name and include their mobile number and email address for contact tracing. Guests cannot attend both shows, so please choose carefully.
This event will sell out, and we appreciate your support in acknowledging this important date in Australian history. The live show will be streamed online using Vimeo for free.
