Yes, we can run on 98% renewables
Event description
With an election coming up and some BIG issues on the table, it’s time to step up the Gippsland fight for climate action. Join us at our next General Meeting.
Our guest speaker is Dr David Osmond who will talk about “Yes, we can run our grid on 98% renewables”. Every week for the last 3 years, he has applied actual data for wind and solar generation against electricity demand to see how much actual renewable generation and storage we would have required. The results are surprising and very encouraging
Afterwards, we will look at where we can make an impact locally in the lead-up to the election. We are already seeing mis- and dis-information, so we have our work cut out for us and we need your help.
Join us at 7.30pm on Wednesday 26th February at the Bond Street Event Centre or via Zoom. Registration is required. Zoom details will be sent out one day prior to the event.
Note: In the interests of free and open discussion, paying for your ticket is your choice but we do welcome payments if you can; this will help cover the cost of the venue and support our campaigns for stronger climate action and fighting "Climate Wars 2.0" at the next election.
