Yiddish Dance Night

Please join us for a night of Yiddish Dancing with live klezmer performed by Christina and the Zamlers and The Rhapsody Project Klezmer Jam. Yiddish dance is joyous, expressive, communal, and very approachable for new dancers. We’ll start with a lesson from 6-7pm, taught by Maia Brown. Shortly after 7pm, we’ll have two sets of live music. With Purim just around the corner, this will be the perfect opportunity to get your dancing feet ready before the holiday!

Christina and the Zamlers features the accordion of Christina Crowder with Mae Kessler on violin and Jimmy Austin on trombone. Together they create a playful tapestry of sound sure to get your feet off the ground. Much of their music comes from a collection recently made available by the KMDMP, a project by the Klezmer Institute digitizing music long locked away in the Vernadsky National Library in Kiev.

Join us starting at 6pm. Full menu, featuring food by Chef Tay, and bar available until 11pm. View our menu at blackandtanhall.com/menu.

Founded in 2022, The Rhapsody Project Klezmer Jam meets every 2nd and 4th Monday at The Couth Buzzard in Greenwood. They play and sing many kinds of Yiddish music, from Yiddish workers songs to klezmer dance tunes and beyond.
