Event description

Manjushri Buddhist Centre is excited to be hosting 3 events for those participating in the Yila Healing Trail in October 2024. Our events will focus on Connection to Community and Reconnection to Mind and Emotions. All events are free and everyone is welcome to attend.

Calm Abiding Meditation

Sun 13th Oct - 8.00 to 9.30am
Mon 14th Oct - 6.00 to 7.30pm
Venue: Manjushri Buddhist Centre - 40 Wason St, Milton, NSW, 2538

You are warmly invited to come along to our weekly drop in meditation sessions. Through the practices of meditation and mindfulness we are able to better understand ourselves, our thoughts and our emotions. Our experienced facilitators will gently guide you through the Calm Abiding Meditation practice - this runs for about 45 minutes. Afterwards you are invited to stay for a warming cup of Chai and welcome to ask any questions about the practice or the centre generally. This is a secular practice which requires no prior experience so all are welcome.

Soor Practice

Sat 19th Oct - 5.00 to 7.00pm
Venue: Sandridge Cemetery - 39 Ocean St, Mollymook, NSW, 2539

Come along to a very special practice where we will offer prayers and mantras to the deceased, recognising the importance of living and dying well. This is a beautiful practice that is supportive to the mind of the deceased, during their time in bardo (intermediate state) and for those grieving the loss of a loved one. Everyone is welcome to bring the name of a loved one (including pets) who have passed in the past 7 weeks to be included in the prayers and participate in the food offering which is done by burning food substance on the fire. We'd love you to stay for a warming Chai and chat after the practice is complete.
