Yin Workshop for Therapeutic Professionals

Come for a morning exploring use of body-based techniques, a taster of yin practice & time together to connect over teas, coffees and treats

We'll look at how body-based practices can be helpful for professionals, either for awareness and care of the impact of your work with those in stress and distress, or as ways to add to existing somatic practices you use with clients.

You'll get to settle in and experience a taster session of Yin practice, as a technique to increase interoception and resilience, as you experiment with your relationship to discomfort, and release tension held in the deeper tissues.

Afterwards, with time together over teas, coffees and treats, we'll look at how it can be useful as nervous system training, and in trauma-related work, for titration and working around window of tolerance.

The morning will be hosted upstairs at Empower Health Club, in the new health studio. Fully equipped with all the props and kit needed, so you only need to bring yourself and come in comfortable clothes.

The yin practice is mainly floor-based, passive stretching, so doesn't require any previous experience of yoga, or any flexibility.

Yin involves targeted, static and sustained loading of tissues, which regular movement and exercise don't usually reach. So it can release long-held patterns of tension and tightness in the body, and is an ideal balance for busy, hectic lives, and professional work. This morning is perfect for you if you're quicker to book in professional development than self-care time!
