YIN YOGA:

Most forms of Yoga Asana, the physical form of yoga, encourage control, movement and strength. Although these dynamic styles also incorporate stretching, when muscles are engaged the fascia is unable to release. Fascia is one of many parts of our Connective Tissues including bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments, which all form our joints.

Joint capability is crucial for good health and longevity, but is also vastly overlooked in most exercise / physical health regimes.

This makes Yin Yoga a complementary and necessary practice with all other types of movement and exercise.

You will be encouraged and guided to release and relax, using props (bolster, block and strap) to support you and retain comfort whilst also allowing deep stretches to unfold, over the course of 4 to 8 minutes per pose.

This has profound effects on both body and mind, as we are cultivating Yin energy within us, that promotes stillness, peace and serenity.

It also works on the subtle Meridan Channels in the energetic body, and releasing stuck energy and imprints that no longer serve us.

Many benefits, from such a slow and soft practice.

SOUND BATH:

Following on from this, once we have embodied a sense of restfulness we flow into a Sound Bath.

Sound has been observed, harnessed and utilised in indigenous cultures for longer than history has been recorded. Our Ancestors understood the power of unity and sound in ways we are now reconnecting with in modern times.

Using the instruments of both ancient cultures and modern man, you will be bathed in sound and receive Frequencies that work with different energetic centres (chakras) in our body, but also assist to release stored impressions, promote moments of clarity and insight, and even have the capacity to heal the physical body as well as uplifting and relaxing the mind.
