About the venue
Facilities
The workshop and performance will be held in the Church.
There is heating in the Church but please remember it is a big Victorian building and we are in mid January so bring layers and wrap up. There is no dress code; be comfortable and warm.
Refreshments will be served at the back of the Church and in the Church Hall.
There will be a complimentary hot drink on arrival. Tea, coffee and cake will be available for a small charge during the morning break and lunch time; squash and water will be available all day and during the final break.
Please be aware that there are limited toilet facilities. There are no toilets in the church itself, and only three toilets in the church hall, including one for people with disabilities.
There are lots of eateries within easy walking distance. Walmgate has lots of small cafes, there are supermarkets on Foss Islands Road, and opposite the church is the Rose and Crown pub which is famous for its pies! If you want to stay on site, you can bring a packed lunch and eat in the church or church hall.
Travel and Parking
Parking is limited so please use public transport if at all possible
The nearest public car parks are in Kent Street and St George’s Field
There are bus stops on Lawrence Street, in front of the Church and opposite, in front of the “Wagon and Horses” for buses 10, 66A and X46
The nearest ‘Park and Ride’ is Grimston Bar (A1079 Hull Road). The incoming bus turns right at lights just before the Church and stops in James Street; it is a short walk back from there to the Church. The outgoing bus can be caught from the bus stop in front of the “Wagon and Horses”
If you do drive, there is parking space at the west end of the Church for about 12 cars so if you have genuine mobility problems and would like to reserve a parking space please send a message through Eventbrite
