Join us for a morning of yoga and meditation and help us raise funds for Olive Kids and El Rahman, who do valuable work supporting Palestinians in Occupied Palestine and arriving here in Australia.

The very first limb of the eight limbed path of yoga is Ahimsa, or non-violence. This extends to everything. To ourselves, to the earth, to its animals, its plants and all of its people. Ceasefire is Ahimsa.

It is for this reason that we felt compelled to organise this fundraiser to raise money for Olive Kids and El Rahman.

Olive Kids is an Australian Foundation dedicating to supporting children in Palestine. They provide financial aid, healthcare, education and other support to children living in Palestine. They collaborate with their partner organisations based in Palestine and aim to work in a way that ensures local capacity is built to support self-determination.

El Rahman Inc is a grassroots not-for-profit organisation that is actively involved in providing financial aid to those wanting to leave Gaza (Egypt border crossing fees and flights). These are for Palestinians who have been granted visas in Australia as they family here. The costs to leave are increasing all the time, with border crossings now costing thousands. The work El Rahman are doing is literally saving lives and deserves support.

Details of the event are below.

Location: Green Monday Studios at 73 Gratton Street, Naarm/Carlton. Please note that the venue has stairs, please consider if this will cause any access issues before booking.

Time: 9:45am start (please arrive 10 minutes before to be ready for practice).

Structure: A short introduction to talk about Olive Kids and other local organisations currently raising funds. Followed by a 90 minute practice comprised of a 45 minute Yoga Flow (facilitated by @loveaoifeyoga). After this there will be a 40 minute Yoga Nidra (facilitated by @yogawithjemma).

There will be an opportunity for a group discussion afterwards, if anyone has anything they would like to share. Anything from how you are feeling, to sharing other events and actions supporting Palestine. We will be migrating to the State Library for the rally after the event, you are welcome to join us if you wish.

Cost: $45 - Double Feature - Yoga Flow & Yoga Nidra (both)

$30 Single Session - Yoga Nidra or Yoga Flow (one or the other).

Additional donations are optional but welcomed.

What you need: water, yoga mat, comfortable clothes, an eye mask can also be pleasant to use during a yoga nidra.
