Reflections - 2024
" I love this yoga practice and the focus of calming the nervous system. Maria's instruction is wonderful. She creates a safe space for WOC to feel seen, calm and at peace"
AMANI YOGA came out of a desire to create an culturally inclusive yoga space for BIWOC to feel safe and have a
sense of belonging and experience how yoga can contribute to racial stress healing and well-being.
This offering includes
- A restorative yoga practice- providing deep rest, a practice which you can take away and practice daily (all postures are accessible to all bodies and all levels of experience, especially beginners)
- An exploration of how racial stress impacts our body’s nervous system and how yoga can relax the nervous system in a safe nurturing setting.
- Please Note
- AMANI Yoga is intended for self-identified black woman, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander woman and women of colour. Thank you for honouring this intention.
- No previous yoga experience is required – Yoga is for EVERYBODY.
- Wear loose comfortable clothes.
- Please bring a water bottle, towel or sarong to cover the bolsters.
- Yoga equipment such as mats etc are provided but you are welcome to bring your own.
Thank you and we look forward to sharing this beautiful time together
