‘Be like a Tree’ Yoga Class from the YFG Retreat

In this yoga class, we imbibe the qualities of a tree: strength, resilience, growth, and connection to support our well-being and embody nature's wisdom. We open the heart's energetic flow with breath and movement, and free the whole body with the Palm Tree Vinyasa to build concentration and mental strength, increasing the life force (prana) held within the body.

In Dru yoga sequences of the tree pose, we flow like a prayer with hand gestures (mudra) as we set our intention for our heart’s desire. Through the spiral symbol, we activate growth and joy. We complete with an earth/sky meditation to ground, balance, and settle ourselves back into our day.

Moira teaches Dru Yoga and Holistic Yoga in her local community. She also runs creativity workshops, yARToga, which blends using art materials with yoga practice to open the heart for awareness, self-love, compassion, and purpose. She is an Artist and Director at YFG, which offers opportunities for others to benefit people in their community through yoga grants.
