Starting the new year can feel like a time to reset and look ahead. There are many gifts within that and sometimes it can invoke anxiety.Â
Anxiety can feel different for different bodies: tightness in the chest, quickened heart rate, rapid thoughts, a sense of urgency or overwhelm, sweaty palms and more. It can tend to pull us into the future, which might be based on what’s happened in the past or due to uncertainty. Â
This is a time to practice being together. The class series aims to relieve anxiety, applying a trauma informed lens to somatic yoga practices. The slow and gentle pace encourages people to sustain presence in the moment through cueing and choice. Somatic resources that could be engaged with outside of the class setting will be offered.
Begin your year with intention and start with a practice of self-care within a container of collective care. Â
Start your week on Monday nights by taking some time for yourself, your choices, and your body.
This class is accessible for all different bodies. You do not need to be navigating anxiety to attend. All are welcome.Â
