Welcome to Aphrodisia!

We host classes specially designed to enhance connection and increase confidence. Please note all participants must be over the age of 18 years. Classes are capped to ensure that everyone can receive appropriate levels of attention and tuition.

We are please to invite you along to our Yoga for Shibari workshop. A perfect class for bunnies and riggers alike, participants will be led through a sequence of positions designed to specifically designed to target the strength and flexibility needs of those who practice Shibari.

This class occurs directly before our July Rope Jam, which also contains an optional shibari mini-workshop. Ticket deals are available on checkout. Please refer to the Rope Jam event on what to expect for this event and details of the additional workshop.

Demonstrator: Josh

Josh is a senior yoga teacher specialising in the traditional Mysore style class format, which allows students with vastly different practices to share the same encouraging space, all together at the same time while being tutored by experienced teachers.

Aside from writing and running Ashtanga Yoga Newcastle, Josh is President of Yoga Australia, the peak body for yoga in this country. Josh also volunteers his time working with a not-for-profit native tree nursery and bush regeneration organisation.

Costs 

Entry is $15 per person and open to all participants and experience levels. 

What to wear

Regular activewear you’d normally wear to a yoga or exercise class.


The Space

Located at the Ashtanga Yoga Studio in Newcastle West, the room features wide, open spaces for floor rope and an open ceiling full of steel beams for partial or full suspension. The space is on the top floor so please get in touch if you have mobility concerns.


What to bring

Yourself! For those staying to be part of the Rope Jam, rope if you have some. 

If you have your own yoga mat, please bring it along.
