TYPE OF YOGA:

Tantra/Hatha 2,500 year old practice - unchanged

This practice is a combination of both sun/moon, its about energy management and developing a deeper relationship to Prana, the energy that sustains us and all of life. The Solar/Moon path rides the line between cultivating the power we need to excel and the sensitivity we need to touch the subtler planes of reality. In addition to Asanas that open the chest and upper body and an emphasis on developing the inhalation, we also do forward folds and twists to cultivate the calming effects of the moon. Here we see the introduction of the deeper Tantric practices such as Bandhas and Mudras to increase the voltage and radiance within this vessel, the body. A steady and calm mind is an absolute necessity on the Solar/Moon path.

Methodology: To enliven and sensitise. Backbends, Laterals, Namaskars (Salutations) forward folds and twists. Focus on developing the inhalation and also creating the calming effects of the Moon. Introduction of Bandhas and Mudras.

These classes are ideal if:

> You are feeling stagnant or lazy.

> You are feeling sad or depressed.

> You are looking to feel more positive about life.

> You have poor circulation.

> You want to feel more stable & calm

> You have low immunity.

> You are ready to start working more on the energetic level.

Anyone can join this class, as long as you have an able body that can move freely.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

- Yoga Mat or you can hire for $3.00

- Water Bottle

- Something to keep you warm

- Your Swimmers and a Towel (If you wish to swim in the spring)

- A BIG smile!!!

Afterwards take a dip in our natural private spring and bring cash if you would like to enjoy Chai Tea and Treats with like minded people.

All proceeds go to "THE FOOD PROJECT" for the homeless and women's shelters.

NOTE:

- You can only book online, no spots are available on the day.

- Our Shala is weatherproof, therefore we still operate in the rain!

- Allow 40 minutes drive time from Mackay CBD with current road works!

- To get the most out of your practice we suggest you do not drink coffee the morning of, or consume alcohol the night before class.

- Arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to set up and go to the bathroom ect. Gates close at start of class so please be early! We do not accept late arrivals as this disturbs the class in progress.

- This is a class for ages 16+ due to the style of yoga.

- If for any reason you cannot afford to pay for a class, contact us directly.

- We volunteering our time. Our hours of operation are 8:00am - 3:30pm Mon-Fri. If you have any queries please contact us via our Facebook page "Mt Jukes Eco Retreat". We do not reply to messages outside of these hours as we are either teaching yoga or growing food for the less fortunate.
