The Tantric Universe | Sat 11th October | 9am - 12pm
What is most unique about Tantra and tantric yoga philosophy? Quite simply, the fact that its teachings and practices are best suited for contemporary life. Departing from earlier notions of asceticism and dry scholarship, Tantra presents a sublimely inspiring view of the world and of human existence, one that incorporates all aspects of human existence: the heart, the intellect, the body and the environment. In this seminar we will explore Tantra and what is perhaps its most refined formulation, Kashmir Shaivism, from a perspective that is both inspirational and entirely applicable to our daily lives. We will dispel the most common misunderstandings about what Tantra is and is not, investigating its roots and its development, and uncovering the answers it provides to the most fundamental questions of existence, as well as the practices it developed to expand human consciousness. Ultimately, we will discover the value of Tantric practice in that it reveals the divine right in the midst of the ordinary, charging our lives with meaning.
Karma: The Soul’s Journey | Sat 11th October | 1pm - 4pm
How does karma work? How does it shape my destiny and how can I change my destiny? What lies beyond this life? What happens during death? How can I best prepare for it? How can I overcome my fear? How can I help others to make the transition? These are some of the questions that the workshop will address, drawing from the wisdom of ancient texts such as the Katha Upanishad and others. Immensely relevant, meaningful and practical, the Mystery of Karma & the Journey of the Soul workshop will provide not only knowledge, but also practices and strategies to understand the underlying forces that create our destiny, to shape our destiny, to deal with the inevitable process of life and death, helping us and others to put our life in perspective, make the transition smoothly and address unsolved issues in our lives.
Secrets of the Subtle Body | Sun 12th October | 9am - 12pm
What is the origin of Hatha Yoga? What is the mysterious Kundalini? How can I experience it and how can it help my practice? What is unique about the human body? How can yoga help me to understand my body? Above all, how can these teachings help me to deepen my practice? These are some of the questions that we will be exploring at this upcoming seminar, the last on this series. Building up on the knowledge of the Tantric traditions, the paths of kundalini yoga and hatha yoga present a radical approach in which the body is not an obstacle to spiritual life, but rather the very vehicle to enhance our consciousness and develop a sense of connectedness with our world and ourselves, at the deepest possible levels. This seminar will offer a fascinating tour of the hidden “anatomy” charted by the Tantric masters and will also present several powerful exercises to enhance our daily practice.
