Yorke Peninsula Algal Bloom Information Session
Event description
Yorke Peninsula Council invites community members to attend an information session with Faith Coleman to learn more about the Harmful Algal Bloom currently affecting our region.
Faith Coleman works in numerous estuaries across South Australia, Australia and internationally, helping industry, site managers and communities develop deep understandings of estuarine ecological and biophysical processes, developing integrated approaches to estuarine and salina management, adaptive management of landscapes, climate change mitigation and sustainable natural resource use. She takes great joy in working with those on the 'coalface' of environmental change (mainly traditional owners, watermen, and primary producers), helping express the changes they see and providing guidance on how to drive these changes back toward desirable outcomes. She sits on the Board of the International Society for Salt Lake Research and is co-founder of the Coorong Environmental Trust.
Yorke Peninsula Council staff will provide an update on advocacy and support for impacted businesses and environmental monitoring.
