Yoto Book Week Treasure Trail Adventure

    What to expect

    The Treasure Hunt

Search for one of 100 Yotokeys’ which will be hidden along winding paths, under shady fig trees and beneath fluffy ferns near Lachlan Swamp. It won’t be toooo tricky though, this is a kids event after all.

The Yoto Treasure Chest awaits the victorious adventurers, overflowing with goodies and surprises — and of course — 100 Yotos

Pssst... it's a very lucrative treasure hunt, with a guaranteed key for all families!

    Amazing Prizes

Adventurers who don’t take part in the Treasure Hunt (those with General Admission tickets) still have a great chance of taking home 1 of 50 Yoto Players and other amazing kid-friendly goodies, with prizes on the day for the best costumes, the best dance moves, and for those who show great spirit and determination!

Grown-ups, we have you covered too

Participants will also go in the draw to win a Mustard Made locker from the event in the colour of their choice, perfect for storing all of your new Yoto goodies at home!

    Exciting Activities

There are so many exciting things to take part in at Yoto's Book Week Treasure Trail, which ones will you try?

    • Get sidetracked on your quest with a Yoto Mini Meditation Walk around the famous Centennial Park Labyrinth

    • Have a boogie and do some star jumps at the Yoto Music and Move station to tunes from The Beatles, Queen and other kids favourites.

    • Grab a cushion on the Yoto Story Spot and tune in to some of your favourite stories from the likes of Roald Dahl, Disney, Beatrix Potter, Peppa Pig, Yoto Originals and many more.

    • The young and young at heart can swing by the face painter’s station and get into your best Book Week character. Will you be a Gruffalo? A dinosaur? Peppa Pig? The choice is yours.

    • You may even see a real-life super-magical Bubble Queen ...

    Silly Stories for Kids, Live!

Meet Sam himself from the smash hit kids podcast Silly Stories for Kids, who will be delivering his wild, hilarious and oh-so-silly stories live for kids on the day! Come along to the Story Spot and maybe your name can feature in one of his stories, that he’ll be making up on the spot!

    Refuel tired bodies

After all that adventuring, registered participants can grab a well-deserved hot chocolate from the Spruce Goose Cafe on Parkes Drive, courtesy of Yoto. See the event teams on the day for your vouchers!

So, are you in matey? Here's how to get on board

Option 1: Register for the Treasure Hunt

      Session 1: 8.30am - 9.30am, recommended for kids aged 3-6
      Session 2: 10.00am - 11.00am, recommended for kids aged 7-12

If you can't make the session that suits your adventurer's age that's OK, it's a guide, not a strict rule.

There’s strictly 1 key and 1 major prize per family though, so if you have kids in both age brackets just choose the one session that best suits your kids.

A treasure hunt ticket will get you access to all of the other activities too — you do not need a GA ticket too.

Option 2: Register for General Admission and a chance to win 1 of 50 Yoto Players

If you do not have a Treasure Hunt ticket, register for General Admission and come along at any time throughout the morning from 8.30am - 12.00pm.

There are 50 Yoto Players up for grabs for the General Adventurers who get involved in the Yoto activities. We'll be looking for the kids who get into the Book Week spirit in costume, boogie it out at the Music & Move stations, complete the tricky Labyrinth walk, and more.

Any unclaimed prizes from the Treasure Hunt activity will be available in a final round towards the end of the event, so come and try your luck!

Please be sure to register as space at this event is limited. If you have a Treasure Hunt ticket you do not need a GA ticket also.

Important Information for grown-ups and adventurers

Grown-ups, please make sure you read the information below so that things go swimmingly on the day and everyone has an amazing time.

        1. What to wear: Rug up, dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes: You'll be walking and exploring over relatively flat grassy ground, but it could be wet and muddy! We recommend wellies/gumboots! Book Week costumes are encouraged and there are extra prizes for those who get in the spirit.

        2. Safety and accessibilityThe Treasure Trail event space is an outdoor area in a relatively flat, grassy part of Centennial Parklands. Some ground may be uneven.

There are two large, unfenced ponds adjacent to the event site, Willow Pond and Duck Pond. Please ensure children are especially supervised around the ponds.

First Aid support will be available on-site in the unlikely event that help is required. Yoto event staff will be easily identifiable in bright orange caps and gear. If you need assistance on the day please ask one of our friendly and capable team.

Please be sure to read the Terms and Conditions of participation at the checkout which outline your responsibilities.

        3. Parking and transport: There is plenty of parking in Centennial Parklands. Please be aware it may take ~10 minutes to walk to the Labyrinth from parking (with kids in tow).

        4. Entry and exit points: There are two ways to enter the event site on foot. The best location to enter into Google/Apple Maps is Centennial Park LabyrinthPlease check our helpful map below this section

          1. From Parkes Drive side, by walking along the path beside Duck Pond, that starts at the Spruce Goose cafe
          2. From Dickens Drive near the Celebration Steps. Refer to our handy map for more information.

        5. Bad Weather: In the event of extreme weather that even the bravest adventurers shouldn’t be out in, the event will be postponed and participants will be notified. A light sprinkle and we'll still proceed. We will communicate with all attendees via email if plans change.

        6. Keeping it safe and fun for all ages: As this is an event for kids aged 3-12 it's important all adventuers participate with care and consideration for others in the event space. Participants must also comply with the rules and regulations of Centennial Parklands.

        7. Leave the pooch at home, please: While we love furry friends, we kindly request that you do not bring the dog/pooch to this event for the safety of little kids and Bubble Queens.

        8. Kids must be accompanied by a responsible adult: A reminder to parents and guardians, kids MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times. So bring your own adventure boots too and join in the fun. This is not a drop-off event.

        9. Food and drinks: To keep waste in the beautiful parklands to a minimum, there will be no food and beverage provider at the event site, however vouchers will be available for hot chocolates and babychinos for event participants, from the Spruce Goose cafe on Parkes Drive. Please feel free to bring your own snacks, food and drinks and enjoy them on the site. Please take any waste and rubbish with you to leave the park as pristine as we found it.

        10. Toilets: The closest public toilets in the park are a 3 minute walk from The Labyrinth on Dickens Drive, near the Brazilian Fields. There will not be any port-a-loos on site as the park does not allow this.

        11. Treasure Hunt Prizes: There is strictly 1 prize per registration. Multiple keys per family will not result in multiple prizes. Only registered ticket holders can claim a prize or goody bag as there are limited numbers.
