You Do It I Can’t Be Bothered - The Songs of Tom Smith
Event description
Tom is heading overseas in early May to play some solo gigs, form some pick up bands and do some recording in UK, Ireland, Germany and beyond.
This is his last gig with The Songs of Tom Smith band before he goes for an indefinite period (approx 6 months). In the meantime the band have decided to continue without him (at least temporarily) and the search for a lead singer has begun.
9 years ago Tom began this project with a recording and gigs where his musician friends recorded and performed his songs. The project was called You Do It I Can't be Bothered - The Songs of Tom Smith.
He was heartened to be involved in music again after a period where he felt isolated and unconnected and was unable to find collaborators. He didn't play or sing with the bands but merrily heckled from the audience. Eventually he picked up his guitar again and began performing and at one stage had 4 versions of the band here in Brisbane as well as 2 in Adelaide and one each in Sydney and Melbourne! To celebrate the last decade of friends collaborators and community and show his gratitude he has decided to resurrect the event that began it all: You Do It I Can't be Bothered - 10 Years On!
