    Event description

    About the project

The YOUmanity storytelling project aims to capture the stories of young people’s lives in a time marked by severe disruptions that have impacted youth mental health. Working with award-winning Logan writer, Sandra Makaresz, young writers will publish photo stories of survival and resilience.

    Program commitment

Attend this initial training and story development session on 20 January at Hive Central at Logan Central Library. This is free to attend and six people will be selected from this group to continue with the extended program:

    • In your own time, take photos with a provided disposable camera and begin developing your story.
    • Participate in up to three short one-on-one sessions to discuss and develop your story. Participant stories will be transcribed, developed and edited for exhibition and/or publication.
    • Deliver a minimum of one story and participate in a final interview. This will be completed by late April 2024.

    More information

Anyone under 25 in the Logan area can attend and learn but numbers are limited. Each participant will receive a single payment of $500 at the conclusion of the program.
