High Holy Days for Young Adults | HHD 2025/5786 at Emanuel Synagogue

Join Tamar, Emanuel Synagogue's vibrant community of young Jews in their 20s and early 30s, for a celebration of the High Holy Days. In addition to the Synagogue's main services, we will have dedicated offerings for young adults. Join us for Tashlich by the Water, a potluck Shabbat dinner in the Sukkah and a Simchat Torah booze and shmooze.

Tashlich by the Water - Tuesday 23 September
1.30 pm - 3.00 pm, Centennial Park (Meet at Emanuel Synagogue)

Walk to Centennial Park after Rosh Hashanah morning services and gather with other young adults for a picnic and symbolic casting of sins into the water with our tashlich ceremony. Bring a picnic lunch and relax for the afternoon.

Yom Kippur Study & Chill - Thursday 2 October

3.00 pm - 4.00 pm, The Neuweg, Emanuel Synagogue

Join us in the Neuweg for a chance to chill with other young adults. After the intensity of the morning, this is a space to gather, relax, learn, play games and unwind: an oasis in the day. Registrations are not required for this.

Potluck Shabbat Dinner in the Sukkah - Friday 10 October
7.30 pm, following Shabbat Services at 6.15 pm

Come and join us in Emanuel Synagogue’s sukkah (weather permitting) for a potluck Shabbat dinner. All young adults are welcome.

Simchat Torah - Booze & Shmooze - Tuesday 14 October
5.00 pm - 6.15 pm, Education Centre

On Erev Simchat Torah, the entire community comes together in celebration. We will be hosting young adults for a booze and schmooze before joining the rest of the congregation. Drinks and snacks are on us.

We are expecting record numbers at our Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services this year, and with limited space in our sanctuaries, we must prioritise our members, who have exclusive access to High Holy Days tickets.
