Description
A casual gathering of young people doing co-op things
Are you a young person who's also involved in a co-op? We are welcoming people between 18 and 40 years to come along for a casual evening to meet other young folk from across the co-op movement, swap stories and see what brilliant co-op projects are out there.
We’ll gather at Stucco Housing Co-operative, a student-managed housing cooperative in Newtown in its 34th year, where we’ll hear directly from residents about how Stucco works and what it’s like to do housing co-operatively.
We'll also welcome representatives from other co-ops to say a few words about their own co-ops and what they do.
There’ll be drinks and nibbles, supported by The Co-op Federation, plus plenty of time to find your people, share experiences and lean into co-operation among co-operatives, the sixth co-op principle. Who knows, we might even dream up our next big co-op idea!
This is the first gathering of what we hope will become an ongoing space for younger people in the movement to meet, share ideas and build the next chapter of co-operation together.
When: Thursday 29 October, 6.30pm (stay as little or as long as you wish; at 7pm we'll have some speakers!
Where: Stucco Housing Co-operative, 197 Wilson Street, Newtown NSW
Yum: Drinks and light nibbles to share!
Please note: This venue (Stucco) has a Safer Spaces Policy that should be respected at all times. Please click here to read.
