Young Detectives - September School Holiday Workshop
Event description
Do you love detective stories? Enter the fascinating world of forensic science and find out what experts look for when analysing evidence and solving crimes. What forensic tools do they use? Students try their skills at analysing their own fingerprints, estimating age and height from hand x-rays and footprints. They will explore the similarities and differences between real human and animal bones. The workshop also includes creating and analysing fake blood spatters, DNA extraction methods and more. Guided by a registered teacher specialising in gifted and talented education and members from the Centre for Forensic Anthropology at UWA, students will experience hands-on sleuthing like never before to help build critical and creative thinking. Maximum fun and exploration… but not for the fainthearted!
