Event description

How does your brain make sense of the world around you?
Where is your blind spot? How does an eye act as a camera lens? The human brain and eyes are two of the most fascinating and complex organs in the body, and in this workshop, you’ll uncover their secrets through hands-on exploration.

Dive into the Nervous System!
Students will have the rare opportunity to dissect real organs, exploring the structure and function of the eye and brain firsthand to develop their anatomical knowledge and foster critical and creative thinking. They’ll gain a deeper understanding of how the brain serves as the seat of intelligence and the interpreter of the senses, while exploring how the eye captures and processes images.

This immersive workshop is sure to excite aspiring neurosurgeons and curious minds alike. As part of the long-running and ever-popular Young Doctors series, it offers a challenging and engaging introduction to the field of human anatomy.

Guided by experts in education and medicine
The workshop is facilitated by a Gifted and Talented education specialist with over a decade of experience teaching anatomical dissection, alongside a highly experienced Emergency Nurse who brings real-world medical insights and regularly trains doctors and nurses across Western Australia. Together, they provide a perfect balance of academic challenge and practical enrichment.

Maximum fun and exploration await… but not for the fainthearted!
