Event description
Discover factors that engineers consider when designing strong bridges, tall towers… and of course, ensuring the safety of eggs dropped from great heights!
We delve into structural design theory and explore the amazing forces of compression, span and tension. Students will develop their planning, problem solving and team skills in the momentous contests that lay before them including the Bridge Build, Tallest Tower and, Mr Slater’s favourite, the Egg Drop Challenge. This workshop is a hands on, fun and enriching experience that allows young minds the freedom to explore and develop their engineering skills while collaborating with like-minded peers.
Guided by a registered teacher specialising in gifted and talented education, students will experience STEM like never before to help build critical and creative thinking.
