Join us for a field day across two farms on Dharug land, Bilpin, NSW

Market Garden – Mixed Farm – Lunch

First stop: Harvest Farms

Tour and chat all things horticulture and community at @Harvestfarms. Aaron Brocken runs a 2 acre organically-run market garden on shared property that has bounced back from both fire and floods and continues to thrive. Aaron was an early adopter of Community Supported Agriculture and his farm and experience has influenced many growers in the region.

Second stop: just down the road – Bilpin Springs Farm

We’ll head just down the road to @BilpinSpringsFarm to tour their set up. Bilpin Springs Farm is a 50 acre family owned mixed production farm. The farm aims to operate as a closed loop, minimising external inputs and utilising on farm composting with their animal grazing management. There’s a big focus on biodiversity, water management and trees in agriculture.

We’ll finish up with a late lunch by the dam. You can expect a facilitated (but relaxed!) discussion about what you might like to see in the future from Young Farmers Connect in this region, and we promise the food will hit the spot too.

The majority of our network are new, young or aspiring farmers, but this event is open to all. Registration is essential to secure your spot and for catering purposes.

No car? Get in touch directly after booking if you are car-less and need a lift from Richmond station, we can organise a lift with some notice.

Second stop is about an hour into the day is at another location on Bells Line of Road.
