Young Lions Futsal Academy - Friday - Term 4

Wesley College students from our Glen Waverley campus are invited to register to the Young Lions Futsal Academy. Commencing Term 4 October 2025, our players will continue to develop the core skills of Soccer focusing on ball mastery in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.  Players from Prep to Grade 4 with our coaches picking students up from classrooms at 3:15pm

This tailored program is designed and delivered by our AFC/A Licensed Head of Soccer + Futsal, Samuel Young and with accredited Wesley College Soccer coaches. 

Focuses on 

• Developing Team work, Communication skills and Resilience. 

• Strong focus on developing dribbling skills through game realistic small sided practises.

• Ball mastery foot skills with attacking and defending principles throughout each practice and session. 

• Championing Wesley College Vision & Values. ROAR. 

• Player of the Term trophy for student that demonstrates ROAR values throughout the program.

• 10:1 coach to player ratio.

Pick up instructions: Parents to pick up students at 4:30pm SHARP on the Soccer Oval (junior school) with late fees added if parents are late to collect.

What is Futsal?

Futsal is a fast-paced, indoor version of soccer (We play it outside) played 5v5 with a smaller, low-bounce ball. It gives young players far more touches on the ball, improves close control, and develops quick decision-making under pressure. Compared to traditional soccer, futsal accelerates technical skill, creativity, and confidence.
