Event description

Hey parents and guardians! Want to teach your teenagers aged around 14-17 about important financial concepts like tax, superannuation, awards, and budgeting? We've got you covered with our upcoming Young Money Program!

Our program is designed to help your teens manage their finances effectively and make informed decisions about their future. Here's what they can expect to learn:

  • Tax: Let's face it, taxes can be confusing, but we'll break it down into easy-to-understand concepts. Your teens will learn what tax is, how it works, and what it means for them.
  • Superannuation: Retirement might seem far off, but it's never too early to start planning for it. We'll explain what superannuation is, how it works, and how to check the funds they already have.
  • Awards: When your teens start working, it's important they know their rights and what they're entitled to. We'll cover what awards are, how they work, and how to negotiate a fair wage.
  • Budgeting: Managing money can be tough, but we'll teach your teens how to create a budget, track their expenses, save money, and plan for the future.

BUDGETING FOR YOUR FIRST CAR (Scenario 1)

We'll be holding a scenario-based workshop where the kids will have to create a budget for their first car. In this interactive workshop, we'll give them a hypothetical scenario where they need to plan and budget for their first car purchase, taking into account factors such as car type, insurance, fuel costs, and maintenance. Through this exercise, your teens will learn how to create a realistic budget, research prices and make informed decisions. They will also gain an understanding of the costs associated with car ownership and learn how to make smart financial choices that align with their goals.

BUDGETING TO LIVE LIFE OUTSIDE OF HOME (Scenario 2)

We'll provide a hypothetical scenario where they need to plan and budget for all living expenses, including rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, and entertainment. We'll encourage them to think about their priorities and make informed decisions about their spending habits. This exercise will teach your teens valuable financial skills such as how to create a realistic budget, track expenses, and make adjustments as needed. It will also give them a better understanding of the costs associated with independent living and help them make informed decisions about their future.

By joining our Young Money Program, your teens will gain the confidence and knowledge they need to take control of their finances and make informed decisions. This is a valuable life skill that will benefit them for years to come.

So what are you waiting for? Sign up now for our upcoming program and give your teens the tools they need to thrive financially!
