Event description

Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Adelaide University invites you to Young Women in STEM!

Please join us in encouraging women to pursue careers in the growing fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM)! Your students will have the opportunity to meet current women studying STEM while undertaking a range of engaging hands-on activities, taught by technologists, engineers, scientists and mathematicians.

We invite each school to bring a maximum of 15 year 9/10 girls to undertake a hands-on day full of STEM activities, designed to inspire continued study in a STEM field. Groups will be guided through several interactive challenges which will broaden each participants’ listening skills, teamwork and problem solving; all highly sought after skills in STEM careers.

New in 2025, we are inviting all participating schools to attend a half-day career skills workshop the following week - where students will develop their personal brand, gain networking skills, and identify their own strengths.

The days and times for the workshops are as follows:

Week 1:
Tuesday 24 June 9:00am-2:00pm
Wednesday 25 June 9:00am-2:00pm

Week 2:
Tuesday 1 July 9:30am-11:30pm OR 12:30pm-2:30pm
Wednesday 2 July 9:30am-11:30pm OR 12:30pm-2:30pm

Each school will be allocated a full-day and a half-day workshop.

We look forward to welcoming the next generation of young women in STEM to our campus!
