In partnership with Sustainable Business Network (SBN)

What does a climate career actually look like? Do you need an environmental science degree? Should you quit your job and work in sustainability? Or can you make a difference exactly where you are?

Join us for an evening of conversation, stories, and audience Q&A exploring the many pathways into climate work.

Based on the themes from his book, Your Job is a Climate Job, Ryan Philp, Head of Sustainability at Daikin New Zealand, suggests that our biggest opportunity to create change often comes not from our personal carbon footprint, but through the influence we have and the decisions we make at work.

In the book, Ryan explores three broad pathways people take:

1. Stay where you are and influence from within
2. Grow and evolve within your organisation
3. Transition into a new climate-focused role or sector

The panel perfectly brings these pathways to life.

Joining us for this special "Ask Me Anything" careers event are:

Panel speakers include:

Emily Mabin Sutton — Independent Director and Chief Executive, Climate Club and Climate Training Co.
Esther Evening — Senior Sustainability Advisor, Mercury Energy

The evening will also provide an opportunity to hear key takeaways from the latest Insights on Aotearoa New Zealand Sustainability Professionals Survey and learn more about SBN's Sustainable Business Fund and the support available for individuals and organisations wanting to accelerate positive change.

We'll wrap up with networking and the opportunity to connect with others who are thinking about the role they play in a changing world.
