What will this workshop be about?
This free community education session aims to support people living with disability and or their carers to learn about:
What areas of life are covered by disability discrimination law?
What is direct discrimination?
What is indirect discrimination?
What are reasonable adjustments?
How to make complaints about discrimination
Who is this workshop suited for?
This workshop is for people living with disability, carers, organisations, leaders, advocates, community groups and clubs working with people living with disability.
More about the Disability Discrimination Legal Service:
The Disability Discrimination Legal Service Inc (DDLS) is a statewide independent community legal centre that specialises in disability discrimination legal matters.
DDLS provides free legal services including information, referral, advice, casework assistance, community legal education, policy and law reform.
The DDLS aims to advance justice for Victorians with disabilities by promoting the objectives of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 and the Equal Opportunity Act 2010.

Accessibility of Sebastopol Library:
Entrance
Accessible ramps are located at the front and back of the building.
Entry is via automatic doors with sensors.
Doorways are wide enough for wheelchair and scooter access (32 inches / 815 mm).
Access Throughout
The library is on one flat level.
Wide browsing spaces accommodate wheelchairs and scooters.
Seating is movable to allow greater access.
Microwave at the refreshment station
Customer service counters are at variable heights for sitting and standing.
Eleven public computers are available. PCs run Windows and include accessibility features.
Communication aids include:
Hearing loop
Wayfinding signs with Braille
Library collection includes:
Large print books
Audiobooks (on CD or digital)
Ebooks with adjustable text size and readability features
Toilets
Accessible toilet available.
Parents’ facilities include:
Baby change table in the accessible restroom
The closest Changing Places is available at the Victoria Park Inclusive Play Space or Ballarat Library.
Parking and Transportation
Designated accessible parking is available:
One space at the Albert Street entrance
One space at the Wilsons Lane entrance
There is a bus stop located at Bridge Street/Albert Street

Assistance animals are welcome, including an assistance dog within the meaning of section 4(1) of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic).
