    Event description

Join us at the award-winning Randwick Sustainability Hub each Friday afternoon and learn skills under expert guidance in a friendly setting.

    Your Sustainable Home

    Fridays, 1:30-4:00pm
    February 3 - Mar 31  (9 Weeks)

Come on a journey of regeneration where we will examine many aspects of day to day living that can be tweaked to make a big difference to our health, environment and bank account. This workshop series will be very hands-on and interactive. Each week we will cover a topic that you will be able to make change on immediately, if you chose to.

We particularly welcome those who are just starting out on their eco-journey and this workshop will be a great space to get started in many areas. While the impact will be big, we will be taking a laid back approach!

    • Climate Change - Is it real?
    • Consumer Power & Waste - What role do consumers have
    • Energy - Finding cheaper and greener
    • Food - A regenerative approach & food waste
    • Native Habitat - Protecting our native critters
    • Water and Cleaning - Going cleaner and greener
    • Transport - Electric transportation and the sharing economy
    • Goals and Planning - Your sustainability goals and buddy
    • Leadership - What role do citizens have
    • Dealing with Difficulties - Challenging people and situations

Recordings of past topics can be found on Council's youtube channel under the PermaBee playlist.

    PERMABEE GARDENING PROGRAM

Before the afternoon workshops, you are welcome to come gardening with us Friday mornings from 9:00am to 12:30pm and help us plant, weed, and compost. We share a cosy morning tea together and socialise and at the end of each day, you'll share in the bounty of any harvest!

You will work as a team and gain expert guidance. Over the course of a year, there is the opportunity to learn specialist skills like pruning, grafting and seed saving.

PermaBees work in the purpose built fruit and veg permaculture gardens and native habitat and bush tucker gardens at Randwick Sustainability Hub.
