Civics is about understanding how the Australian system of government works, our democracy, our rights as citizens and how to participate.
As migrants, we can make the most of our lives in Australia if we embrace our democracy.
The workshop is not a political discussion. It will be an opportunity to bring community together.
It will encourage our understanding about:
- how laws are made
- how to influence change
- understanding authorities - where to go if we have issues
- media information and misinformation
- how to vote correctly
- how to participate and have a voice
There will be networking opportunities and refreshments.
