Youth Cabaret Slam

What is it?

The Youth Cabaret Slam is a curated and more tailored audition-based extension of our Youth Scratch Nights which we were holding monthly at Room to Play Kids. This event will see eight-ten young people each month take to the stage to perform something no longer than five minutes. This can be a musical item, a monologue, a comedy skit, dance item, poetry, magic trick…you name it.

Only this time, there will be a Youth Cabaret Slam winner at the end of the night, who will be voted on by the audience and our guest judges. The winner will receive the prestigious title of ‘Cabaret Slam’ winner and will receive a small prize. Once the winner is announced, we will also have a ten-minute open mic section at the end of the night for anyone in the audience who would like to get up and perform.

The performers for your September Youth Scratch Night will be announced on our socials @roomtoplaytheatre in the fortnight leading up to the event.
