What is the format?
This is a Blended Youth course with approximately 5 hours self paced e-learning + one day face to face facilitated learning.
The self-paced learning must be completed prior to attending the face to face session.
(Max 12 people, minimum 6)
What will you learn?
The Youth Mental Health First Aid course will teach you how to assist adolescents who may be experiencing a mental health problem or a mental health crisis until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves, using a practical, evidence based Action Plan.
More about this course
This is a nationally accredited training course aimed at recognising and supporting young people with common mental health issues. The full day of face to face learning must be attended to receive national accreditation as a Youth Mental Health First Aider (valid for 3 years). Participants must be 18 years or older.
About the presenter
Amanda Oliver is a qualified and experienced clinician with a broad range of expertise in the education, health and welfare sectors, both locally and internationally. She is a registered Psychotherapist and DBT clinician. Amanda works 1:1 offering individual psychotherapy and mother/daughter sessions. She also consults to workplaces assisting both employer and employee to maintain a productive and positive environment to support staff working with people affected by mental illness.
