Youth Period Summit

Event description

For too long shame and embarrassment have been defining factors of periods for young people who menstruate.

It's time to change the conversation.

Periods are everyone’s business.

Join passionate young people for South Australia’s first Youth Period Summit — a one-of-a-kind free event hosted by Commissioner for Children and Young People, Helen Connolly.

The Youth Period Summit will feature expert speakers, stories of impact and change, educational opportunities, table discussions and creative moments. The day will culminate in development of a Charter for tangible action that schools, universities, sporting clubs and workplaces can implement to become more period friendly.

The Summit will also feature stalls showcasing a variety of organisations with an interest in menstrual health and period justice.

This is an event you won't want to miss!

All young people aged 25 years and under (regardless of whether or not you menstruate) are invited to attend. We also invite school principals and wellbeing leaders to come along. Morning tea will be provided for attendees.

The Youth Period Summit is part of the Commissioner for Children and Young People’s Period Justice campaign. You can find out more about this at periodjustice.com.au
