Youth Speaks Virtual Workshop

Are you aged between 18 -35 and passionate about the future of your city? 

Do you feel like your voice is not being heard or represented in decisions that impact your community?

Then the Youth Speaks program is for you.

We are inviting young people aged between 18 – 35 to have their say and be part of conversations around the future of their community.  

About the program

Youth Change Agents in partnership with the Greater Cities Commission are delivering the Youth Speaks program. 

Youth Speaks is an exciting opportunity for young people to provide their feedback on important issues affecting their lives and communities, while building skills to support the future of work. 

Your input will help plan for better access to housing, jobs, transport and plan for our changing climate. 

What’s involved? 

Attend a virtual 2.5-hour workshop where you will:

• Share your perspective on the issues affecting your region and community
• Develop problem solving and critical thinking skills 
• Delve into the world of social entrepreneurship
• Help identify problems and solutions unique to your communities lived experience
• Meet and collaborate with other young people.

All attendees will receive a $50 voucher for their participation.

Who are we looking for?

We encourage all young people aged 18 – 35 who live in the following cities to sign up to the program:

• Illawarra-Shoalhaven City
  
• Western Parkland City
• Central River City
• Eastern Harbour City
• Central Coast City
• Lower Hunter and Greater Newcastle City

Not sure if you live in these cities? Check the Local Government Areas (LGAs) for each city here.

We want to make sure we are planning better cities and places for all. With this in mind, we would like to hear from young people of different ages, gender, cultural backgrounds, and abilities from across the multi-city region.
