About the Symposium:

This symposium, held on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at ATYP in Sydney, is designed for educators, artists, youth workers, or advocates for youth development through the arts.

• Keynote Addresses: Hear from leading thinkers and practitioners in the field of youth theatre, such as Professor Sandra Gattenhof, Professor Michael Anderson and Head of Sydney School of Education and Social Work Associate Professor Kelly Freebody, as they share the results of their research, and their perspectives on the role of theatre in shaping our youth and society.
• Networking Opportunities: Connect with like-minded individuals who share a deep interest in youth theatre including the Education Managers from Sydney Theatre Company, Belvoir St Theatre, Shopfront Arts Co and the Seymour Centre, who will be present to share their experiences delivering arts education programs and outreach in NSW schools and beyond. 
• Resource Exchange: Discover the latest tools, techniques, and resources to enhance your work in the field of youth theatre. Connect with organisations and initiatives dedicated to supporting the growth of youth theatre programs designed to improve the wellbeing of students and young people.
