Youth Unstoppable - Film Premiere and Panel Discussion

UNAA Victoria Young Professionals Network, in conjunction with the Transitions Film Festival, is pleased to present the Australian premiere of Youth Unstoppable - a film about young climate activists (see more below).

The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion (see panelist information below).

Youth Unstoppable is the result of award-winning filmmaker Slater Jewell-Kemer's eight year documentation of the global youth climate movement.

Slater Jewell-Kemker began filming when she was 15 years old and has spent the eight years since traveling the world to UN climate summits while documenting the life of young activists. 

Jewell-Kemker found that climate change was not just stories in the news for these activists but often the reality of daily life in their towns and villages.

Panelists

--Graham Hunter, National Co-ordinator of the Climate Change Program of the United Nations Association of Australia
Graham was a delegate of the World Federation of United Nations Associations to the UN’s climate summits in Copenhagen in 2009 and in Paris in 2015 as well as to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janiero in 2012.

He is a Board member and a former President of the Victorian Division of the UNAA and a former national Vice President.

In this voluntary role he draws on his extensive professional experience in the management of the environment and of natural resources, most recently as a consultant.

--Linh Do, Climate Reality Project - Australia and Pacific
Linh is a social change advocate who has been working on environmental issues for the past decade. Linh's background is in community organising, new media and strategy development. She is currently the Australia and Pacific lead for The Climate Reality Project, Al Gore’s climate change leadership program.

In 2013, Linh was named a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, Australian Geographic Young Conservationist of the Year, and one of Junior Chamber International’s Outstanding Young Persons of the World.

--Alice Greenhill, Sustainability Manager, Yarra Valley Water and United Nations Association Victoria Board Member

Passionate about doing her part to protect our environment and challenge systemic issues, Alice has put her efforts in to how she can do so in both her personal life and career. 

Alice co-led the launch of the UNAA Victoria Young Professionals and for two years focussed on building collaborative action through supporting and partnering with social enterprises and community organisations.

--Ed Krutsch, Australian Youth Climate Council (AYCC) 
Ed has been volunteering with the AYCC since 2017 on campaigns to move Australia beyond coal and gas and supercharge renewable energy.

Last year, as a Year 12 student, Ed was heavily involved with the AYCC's Student Leadership Program and Repower our Schools campaign. This year, he is leading AYCC's community organising and campaign activities in Macnamara in the lead-up to the Federal election.
