Event description

Queensland Writers Centre's monthly creative writing workshop for young people aged 10-16.

Youth Writing Saturday sessions take budding young writers on an adventure through their imagination, as they write and create their very own stories, worlds, characters and more. Let us inspire them to take their first steps as a creative storyteller and join a supportive community.

Queensland Writers Centre tutors facilitate the workshop and offer support by listening to ideas, reading work, and helping edit pieces for submission opportunities. We’re all about working towards goals, publishing opportunities, allowing for writing time and free discussion at every workshop.

Format

This is an in-person workshop for young writers (aged 10-16) with a focus on craft; it will be held at State Library of Queensland. It is a program for young writers of all levels, writing backgrounds and abilities.

All Queensland Writers Centre youth writing events are free for members. Find out more about Queensland Writers Centre youth membership and more opportunities at www.queenslandwriters.org.au/youthwriting.
