Australia's First Nations people want to be heard. They are inviting us to walk with them to build a better a future by establishing a First Nations Voice to Parliament. Australians will be required to vote on this change later this year.

To foster purpose and understanding about this historic event, Youth PoWR and the Challenging Racism Project at WSU are hosting a free workshop led by Youth Off the Streets. The Uluru Statement from the Heart will be the framework.

Together, let us create meaningful and appropriate action for reconciliation and gain a deeper sense of who we are as a nation.

Together, we'll learn about:

The invitation to all Australians in the Uluru Statement from the Heart
The importance of Voice, Treaty and Truth
A Voice to Parliament – to the referendum and beyond
The concept of ‘Makarrata’
Accepting the invitation in the Uluru Statement with purposeful advocacy that advances reconciliation in Australia

Nicole Laupepa: First Nations woman from lands of the Gomeroi people, and from the Murri Gubbi clan of the Kaputhin moiety of the Madhaa skin group. Senior leader with Youth Off the Streets.
Jacqui Parker: second-generation Holocaust survivor, educator, social scientist. Walking Together project co-creator.
