Zapotec Weaving with Vero Mendoza

The following workshop will be taught in Zapotec and Spanish.

Join Zapotec artist Vero Mendoza and learn ancestral techniques for weaving with naturally dyed, handspun wool. The workshop will include a weaving tutorial with naturally dyed yarn, an art form passed down for four generations in Mendoza's family. Participants will also be provided with a weaving frame and naturally dyed yarn to make a weaving and to take home. This workshop will be taught in Zapotec and Spanish.

For an extended learning experience, participants are invited to register to the Natural Dying Family Workshop with Vero Mendoza taking place on Saturday, May 3rd at 12 pm.

Taller de tejido zapoteca con Vero Mendoza
Domingo 4 de mayo | 12 - 16 h

Únete a la artista zapoteca Vero Mendoza y aprende técnicas ancestrales para tejer con lana teñida naturalmente e hilada a mano. El taller incluirá una clase de tejido con hilo teñido naturalmente, un arte transmitido de generación en generación en la familia Mendoza. Los participantes también recibirán un bastidor e hilo teñido naturalmente para tejer y llevarse a casa. Este taller se impartirá en zapoteco y español.

Para una experiencia de aprendizaje más completa, los participantes están invitados a inscribirse en el Taller Familiar de Teñido Natural con Vero Mendoza, que se llevará a cabo el sábado 3 de mayo a las 12:00 p.m.
