Event description

Start the new year with some restoration, therapeutic movement and learn some Zenthai Shiatsu - a movement based therapy which draws from Zen Shiatsu, Traditional Thai Massage and osteopathic technique.

Connect, breathe, relax, & tune in, listen, offer and receive.

On January 22nd, we will be offering this workshop in Freshwater, Sydney.

Included is ZENTHAI FLOW MOVEMENT, GUIDED BODYWORK and a MANUAL.

ZenThai Shiatsu is a modality of 'bodywork' using movement based therapy. The aim is to open the energy pathways to allow prana, qi, life force, (whatever you might like to call it) to flow.

ZenThai is a respected modality for its effective dealing with structural and energetic issues, as well as its thriving community of students and therapists.

Sonia has over 8 years experience as a ZenThai therapist, based mostly in Newcastle she is coming to Sydney for this one off event.

Journey through the Elements
Lets explore each of the elements through movement and awareness of the meridian lines. This enables us to open and activate our body so that it can better respond and listen to others. When we anchor ourselves with a sense of balance and wholeness we are able to find our healing hands.

In the guided bodywork flow we will particularly explore the fire element to sync in with the season of Summer. The Fire element is the spark from which all of life derives. As we have all been impacted this season by heat, bushfires and drought we notice the destructive nature that fire energy can create. The emotion associated with Fire is joy, which, when in balance, represents an overflowing enthusiasm for life.

A delicious and nutritious Miso Broth will be shared after if you would enjoy some time to chat with your new friends before heading home.

After many years of Teaching Outdoor Recreation to school children Sonia stumbled upon a ZenThai Shiatsu workshop and met her teacher the founder of ZenThai Gwyn Williams on the Sunshine Coast in 2011. Since then the Sunshine Coast has become Sonias second home as she often makes the pilgrimage by train to reconnect with the teachings and essence of ZenThai. In 2014 she began teaching workshops and yoga and continues to share to support others to learn, connect and offer this work which is not confined to the mat, this work radiates into our lives, actions, thoughts and words. Sonia is passionate about ZenThai for its ability to assist people in: - realising their true potential, - letting go of conditioning, tension and stories - becoming more aligned to their values - increasing their confidence - experiencing more happiness and freedom. Sonia's main offering is ZenThai Shiatsu Bodywork. Her passion project is teaching the ZenThai Level One 4 day trainings and to that, brings her unique background in Yoga, Functional movement, Dance, and Nature Connection.
