    Zoltan Fecso

Zoltan Fecso is a musician, composer and artist living on Wurundjeri Country in Melbourne, Australia.

Instrumental sensitivity and attentive electronic manipulations are prominent in Fecso’s recordings, which appear on Longform Editions, Oxtail Recordings, Hush Hush Records, Shimmering Moods and more.

Unfastening from his classical background, Fecso explores sound with insightful curiosity. He has presented soundwalks on environmental listening, amplified empty walkmans, given talks, built his own instruments, made silent sound sculptures and led improvised ensembles.

His latest album Other Air intricately documents a stay on Yuin Country through a dense tapestry of chattering textures and glistening sheen. Field recordings are processed into uncanny shapes and set against fluid electronic gestures, the line between the two blurred so thoroughly as to render the distinction impossible.

Through its striking use of texture, Other Air emphasises the physicality of sound and embodied relationships to place.

    Silzedrek (Tarquin Manek)

Tarquin Manek is an artist based in Melbourne whose current solo projects include Tarquin Manek, Silzedrek, Static Cleaner Lost Reward, LST and M Quake.
‘Disturbed and enchanted environmnents’, ‘deep spatial dynamics’, and ‘higher dub logic’ are all phrases used to describe Manek’s work. It’s revealed in a way that spurs on the attentive listener through live settings and in his production - the details so detailed and calling to be heard multiple times for an exercise in a choose your own story-song.

Manek’s ability to weave between the characters of his aliases through 21st century avant folk jazz improvisation, dream(pop) (post) punk, dubbed in and out clarinet, syncopated syco rhythm and beyond, displays a certain lunacy and obsession that only someone of his calibre could possess. Lauded by Resident Advisor as Blackest Ever Black’s MPV, Manek has several releases on the now defunct label, as well as a slew of other releases and tracks on A Colourful Storm, Chapter Music, Purely Physical and Kashual Plastik; with upcoming releases on Low Company, 5 Gate Temple, and A Colourful Storm.

    Abby Sundborn

Abby Sundborn is a Naarm based DJ and Composer.

ACCESSIBILITY Eastmint is accessible via wheelchair through the non main entrance, there is a small sliding door frame that we can place a ramp over the top of. Please get in touch if you require this option. We regret we are unable to provide accessible toilet facilities at this time, although there is wheelchair access to the hand washing sink which is a private space. Closest accessible toilets located at the Peacock Hotel 150m away. There are no windows that are openable in the space but we will open the double doors between sets for airflow. The space is quite cavernous with high ceilings and is an unrenovated warehouse so not tightly sealed. We do not have our own HEPA filter but try to source one for gigs when we can. Please contact eastmintrecords@gmail.com if you require any other info
