Zonta Bendigo Birthing Kit Assembly Day
Event Description
The Zonta Club of Bendigo is delighted to welcome the community back to our Birthing Kit Assembly Day in 2026.
Community packing days have long been an important part of this project for our club, bringing people together to contribute their time, energy and care to a shared cause. After having to pause our community assembly days during COVID, we are especially excited to open the doors again and invite the Bendigo community to be part of the experience.
Together, our goal is to assemble 2,000 Clean Birth Kits to support women giving birth in remote and under-resourced communities around the world.
This is a hands-on volunteering event for anyone who would like to contribute to something meaningful, connect with others and help create a positive impact beyond our local community.
Come on your own, bring a friend or family member, or join us with colleagues. No previous experience is required and our Zonta volunteers and coordinators will guide you through the packing process on the day.
The venue is accessible and plenty of free parking is available on site.
Participation is open to Zonta members and members of the public aged 14 years and over.
Participation is free, however, places are limited and registration is essential.
Choose how you would like to participate
We know everyone has different commitments, so you can choose the timeframe that works best for you:
10:00 am to 12:30 pm
12:00 pm to 3:00 pm
All day: 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
You are welcome to participate for an hour or more within your selected timeframe.
Our assembly stations will operate throughout the day, with volunteers working side by side to prepare and pack the Clean Birth Kits.
Health and hygiene
Because the kits assembled on the day will ultimately be used to support women during childbirth, appropriate infection-control standards will be in place.
Simple hygiene instructions will be provided before you begin packing, and coordinators will be available throughout the event to help.
We kindly ask that you do not attend if you are sick or feeling unwell, even if you have already registered.
Registered participants will also receive a reminder and further information before the event.
Food and drinks
Members of the public are asked to bring their own food and drinks if required.
For infection-control purposes, food and drinks are not permitted inside the main assembly hall.
Can’t attend or would like to donate? You can help
If you are unable to join us on the day, or would simply like to make an additional contribution, you can support the project with a donation.
A $5 donation will contribute to one Birthing Kit.
Every donation, large or small, helps us work towards our goal of assembling 2,000 kits and is tax-deductible.
Donate via our 2027 Fundraiser: https://www.mycause.com.au/page/404157/zonta-bendigo-2027-birthing-kit-fundraiser
Whether you give an hour of your time, stay for the whole day, make a donation or simply help us spread the word, you are helping support women and babies through this important project.
We are so pleased to be bringing our community packing day back in 2026 and look forward to welcoming you for a day of connection, contribution and positive impact.

Birthing Kit Foundation Australia - Introduction Video
What is a Clean Birth Kit?
Clean Birth Kits contain simple but essential items designed to support hygienic practices during childbirth and help reduce the risk of infection in settings where access to medical facilities and essential supplies may be limited.
The kits assembled in Bendigo will support the work of Birthing Kit Foundation Australia, which works with partner organisations around the world to help improve birthing conditions for women and newborns in remote and under-resourced communities.
