Event description

The Zonta Club of Hobart invites you to join us for cocktails and canapes to fundraise for young women in the Kennerley Kids Moving On Program.

The evening will include a silent auction and presentations by Kennerley CEO, Cedric Manen as well as a former graduate of the Moving On Program.

Zonta Club of Hobart is a service organisation supporting women and girls in our community and world.

Zonta International was established in 1919, and is a not for profit human rights organisation that focuses on helping women and girls world wide. The organisation consults to the United Nations on improving the status of women and girls now and in the future and is a global service organisation of 33,000 people in 66 countries working together to advance the legal, political, economic, educational, health, and professional status of women

Kennerley's Moving on Program is targeted at children 15 years and over. The successful program began in 2003, and takes referrals from Child Safety Services for young people who are transitioning from foster care.

Research shows that in every state and territory young people in their mid to late teens had poorer life outcomes after leaving care.

The Moving on Program has been filling this gap in Tasmania, enabling children to reach their true potential, to gain their independence and a sense of hope for the future. Funds raised go towards supporting this important program.
