Guest Speaker: Brother Olly Pickett – 2025 Senior Australian of the Year

We are honoured to welcome Brother Olly Pickett, a true changemaker whose dedication to improving the lives of children with disabilities has made a global impact.

Brother Olly is the driving force behind Wheelchairs For Kids, a volunteer-led charity that has provided over 60,000 custom-built, adjustable wheelchairs to children in more than 80 countries—completely free of charge. Under his leadership, the organisation developed an innovative, low-cost wheelchair design that meets World Health Organisation standards and grows as children do, a world first.

Named 2025 Senior Australian of the Year, Brother Olly was recently recognised at Government House and celebrated by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for his extraordinary contributions. With a dedicated team of over 250 retiree volunteers and 550 community members, Wheelchairs For Kids is one of Western Australia’s largest and most inspiring volunteer-led charities.

For more than 26 years, Brother Olly’s unwavering commitment to service has ignited a ripple effect of kindness and generosity, changing lives across the world. Join us as he shares his remarkable journey and the power of giving back.
