Challenging Ageism Together - a community conversation
Event description
A free public event Challenging Ageism Together featuring keynote speaker Joanna Maxwell (former former Age Discrimination Director at the Australian Human Rights Commission), alongside local experts and community voices.
Joanna Maxwell will explain the nuts and bolts of ageism and offer practical examples and tips for dealing with it, in an interactive and engaging discussion session.
This will be followed by a panel session including Dr Barbara Adonteng-Kissi and Bronwyn Lewis, to take the discussion further.
There will be plenty of time for sharing and asking questions in both the sessions.
The event will include panel discussions, opportunities to share lived experiences, and practical strategies for challenging ageism in everyday life. You’ll leave knowing how to recognise ageism - and how to deal with it.
