Our Place - Our Patches
Event description
Learn how to build a thriving, diverse garden. Join the Valentine Sustainable Neighbourhood Group for a short garden walking tour and community workshop.
We'll be leading a short walking tour of five gardens in old Valentine, followed by morning tea and a workshop to help you plan your own patch.
We'll show you gardens that demonstrate practical ways to:
- Create biodiversity, natural beauty and wildlife in our gardens
- Grow vegies and herbs in raised garden beds
- Plant a verge garden - a special place to share with our community
- Multi-mix vegies, fruit trees and flowering plants
- Compost, worm farm and have backyard chooks
Please bring $5 cash to help with the cost of morning tea.
Meet at 9.30am at the playground, Allambee Park, opposite Valentine shops
